This menu will appear in the Finder's menubar (if the appropriate option is selected in your preferences). The menu options are:
Show/Hide Toolbar
Use this option to hide or display the toolbar window. NOTE: if you press the option key while starting (which causes the creation of the toolbar to be put on hold, necessary during desktop rebuilds, etc.) this menu option changes to Create Toolbar. Naturally, selecting this option will do what it says.
Show/Hide Button Captions
Selecting this option will reveal the button captions area of the toolbar wherein the name of the button over which the cursor lies is displayed. Note that this option must be ON for the customize and color icons to be visible in the toolbar.
Cleanup Toolbar
Selecting this option will perform a toolbar âcleanupâ. Basically this means that the buttons will be re-ordered such that there are no "emptyâ buttons in between âusedâ ones and that all buttons are visible. The size of the toolbar (i.e. number of rows and/or columns) will automatically be adjusted to fit within the bounds of the monitor.
NOTE: you can ensure that this cleanup process is completed everytime you resize the toolbar by turning on the Automatic Cleanup preference via the PowerBar Control Panel/General Preferences dialog.
Special Commandsâ¦
Select this option to display a dialog which lists Special Commands available to be inserted onto the toolbar. Items in this dialog are âgrayed-outâ if they are already present on the toolbar. However, two commands, Run a QuicKey⢠and --PlaceHolder--, will never be made inactive as they are likely candidates for more than one appearance on the toolbar.
To include a Special Command, click it such that a large âââ appears next to the item. Such items will be added when you select the âAdd Command(s)â button. If you, during the course of this selection process, decide not to include something you've already checked, simply click it again and the mark will be removed (and the item therefore not added).
Turn Customization Mode ON/OFF
Use this option to change the mode of operation to customization mode and back to normal mode again. When in customization mode you can SHIFT-select items to re-color them en masse (using PowerLabels) and you can click and drag items to move them around or delete them entirely (by moving them completely off the toolbar). Select this menu option again to return to standard mode.
Use Large/Small Buttons
This option enables you to switch between the two sizes of buttons available (40x40 and 24x24). Note that when you go from small to large buttons, an automatic âcleanupâ (described above under âCleanup Toolbarâ) will occur.
Colors
This option is only available when you are in customize mode (see above). If you have SHIFT-selected a number of buttons, you may use PowerLabels to change their color en masse. Use this menu to change to the PowerLabel of choice or to select a new color from the standard Macintosh Color Picker Dialog. You can also set the items back to the default gray color.
About PowerBar
Select this option to see a colorful about dialog and information on where to send your shareware fee, etc...
Preferencesâ¦
This option is a convenient way to open the PowerBar Control Panel. Select it and the Control Panel will appear via which you may change several settings related to PowerBar.
